THE INCREDIBLE HULK

Whenever Dr. Bruce Banner gets angry, excited, hurt or scared, a startling metamorphosis occurs. When his heartbeat gets too fast and his adrenaline kicks in, Bruce transforms into a green-skinned brute of unlimited strength: The Incredible Hulk. The Hulk himself is a creature who rarely speaks and doesn't go out looking for fights. But when he is provoked, the Hulk fights back and causes massive destruction and even death in his fits of rage. However, the Hulk never kills in cold blood. The Hulk is known to possess enough strength to lift up 100 tons, and the madder the Hulk gets, the stronger he becomes. He is also capable of leaping over miles at a time in a single leap, has an accelerated healing factor that allows him to recover from even the most fatal injuries, and when he claps his hands together, the result of his thunderclap can let loose a concussive force equal to that of a sonic boom. However, while the Hulk is known for causing massive destruction and has been implicated in the possibly-accidental deaths of several people, the Hulk himself is a hero at heart and just wants to be left alone. He has been known to be gentle in the presence of Dr. Betty Ross and is very protective of her. But the Hulk himself is about to face an opponent unlike any he's faced before, an adversary who maybe even far stronger than he is...

DR. BRUCE BANNER

Dr. Bruce Banner was working at Culver University for General Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross on a special new project: Gamma Pulse. Thinking that he was working on radiation resistance, Banner had no idea he was actually working on a special Super-Soldier project that Ross had brought back into development. Banner was so sure of what he was on to with his work that he tested it on himself, with General Ross looking on and with the help of his co-workers and his girlfriend, Betty Ross. When Banner exposed himself to gamma radiation during his experiment, the combination of the massive radiation exposure and myostatin primer that Betty was working on transformed Bruce into a green-skinned creature of unlimited strength - The Incredible Hulk. As a result of the accident, the machine was destroyed, the scientists were killed and Betty was injured. As the Hulk went to check on Betty, one of General Ross' men shot at the Hulk. The brief attack caused the Hulk to shove Ross aside, breaking his left arm, and punching the gunman out of the room. After the Hulk fled the laboratory and he changed back into his normal self, Bruce went to visit Betty at the hospital, but was confronted by General Ross, thrown out and forced to leave before Betty could see him when she awakened. General Ross spoke to Banner about new plans for his alter-ego: he wanted the Hulk out of Banner, dissected, and replicated to be made into a weapon. Refusing to go along with Ross' proposal, Bruce gave up his job and travelled from place to place for five years. He has been constantly hunted by General Ross and his soldiers while trying to find a cure for his green-skinned alter-ego. Now, Bruce hasn't changed into the Hulk for five months and has been in hiding in Brazil. Under the alias Mr. Green, Bruce has been in contact with a fellow scientist on the internet named Mr. Blue to help him find a cure for his gamma exposure. But as the story begins, things are about to change for Dr. Banner...

DR. ELIZABETH "BETTY" ROSS

Five years ago, Betty Ross was working at Culver University as a cellular biologist, was Bruce Banner's girlfriend, and she helped Banner with the Gamma Pulse experiment that resulted in the unintentional creation of The Incredible Hulk. An accident in the lab caused Betty to be hurt and taken to the hospital. When she awoke, she found that Bruce had already left and a short time later, he quit his job and left in search of a cure alone. When Betty returned to work, General Ross had all of her work and data on the Gamma Pulse experiment taken away...or so the General had thought. Today, Betty still works at Culver University and is dating one of the best psychiatrists in the country, Dr. Leonard Samson. She has not spoken to her father for years, and, although she cares for Leonard, she has not stopped waiting for Bruce to come back into her life. After recent events, Betty just may get her wish...

EMIL BLONSKY

Born in Russia and raised in England, Blonsky is a soldier of the Royal Marines on loan to the U.S. Army. He refers to himself as a fighter and says that he will be one for as long as he can. But at age 39, Blonsky's no longer in his prime and his age is catching up with him. Blonsky has recently been hired by General Ross to find, hunt down and tranquilize Bruce Banner so that he may be taken into custody. But when Blonsky chases Banner down with his fellow soldiers into a bottling factory, Bruce Banner loses control and the Hulk emerges, throwing soldiers aside like rag dolls and tossing forklifts with ease. When General Ross returns to base with Blonsky, he fills his new recruit in on the origin of the Hulk and informs him of a secret military project from World War II: a serum that could turn an ordinary man into a Super-Soldier. Blonsky is offered the chance to get even by undergoing a small dose treatment of Ross' serum to make him faster, stronger, and to recover from injuries quicker than any normal man ever could. However, when Blonsky recovers from a near-fatal second encounter with the Hulk, Blonsky finds himself wanting more and is eager for a rematch with the Hulk to prove he's more powerful. When Blonsky later finds another way to get power like the Hulk has, the result of Blonsky's further exposure could prove monstrous...

GENERAL THADDEUS "THUNDERBOLT" ROSS

General Ross was present when his daughter, Dr. Betty Ross, helped the man she loved, Dr. Bruce Banner, undergo the Gamma Pulse project. While Banner thought he was working on a radiation resistance project for the Army, Ross had lied to him. Ross was really working on the Bio-Force enhancement project to give human beings superhuman levels of strength, healing, speed and reflexes. The creation of the Hulk resulted in an accident in the lab, leaving Betty injured and the Hulk breaking Ross' left arm. When Bruce went to visit Betty in the hospital, Ross confronted him and proposed that Banner let him get the creature out of him to be studied, dissected, and replicated to be the Army's ultimate weapon. Banner refused, quit his job and went on the run. As a result, Betty has not spoken to her father since Bruce ran away. For five years, Ross has chased Banner around the world in an attempt to keep Banner from curing himself of his alter-ego and harnessing the Hulk's power as his own. When Banner is found in Brazil, Ross leads a team of soldiers to track him down and bring him back into custody with the help of his newly recruited soldier, Emil Blonsky. When his first attempt fails, Ross intends to enhance Blonsky with a sample of the Bio-Force Super-Soldier serum to make a soldier strong enough to match the Hulk and fast enough to dodge the Hulk's attacks. But Ross' obsession to track down the Hulk and granting Blonsky such new power may result in the creation of something even worse than the Hulk ever could be...

However, as curious as Samson is about helping Betty with her past, Samson should be careful what he wishes for.
